Christmas gift

I love Brittney Lee's paper sculptures, they're so inspiring that I had to try to make one! Eversince I was a child I adored the Graham Johnstone sisters beautiful illustrations. My favourite was the one of Mrs. Darling from Peter Pan looking out the window. This paper work was my Christmas gift for my mom inspired by that illustration. It still needs to be framed though.

Mime Appétit!

The puppet animation film we've been working on for the last couple of weeks is finally finished! It got good critics, people liked it, so I guess it has really worth the time and the effort. There were series of bad luck including sickness, technical issues and broken puppet arms, but in the end it all turned out right. Unfortunately this is all I can show yet, but I promise I'll upload the film as soon as I can.

Escape

I've just seen Up and liked it a lot! It's so lame that we had to wait 6 months for the Hungarian premier... but it was worth it :)

Noir

Preparation has begun for the puppet course starting off in November. Two stories have to be done, both about food or drink. We'll be working in pairs and we decided to make the first one in the style of film noir. Here are a couple of character sketches and some very lousy lighting studies.

Values

I wanted to practise how to use values properly, unfortunately this 30 min doodle was all I had time for today.

Caveman

Our current schooltask is to design a character whose personality is based on a building in Budapest. Mine was the "Chapel in the Rock on Gellért Hill" person who's a very old, grumpy christian, living on a hill, fed by his only friend, a kind nun.

Where is He...?

Started as a Photoshop doodle, but then I decided to finish it. It took about 2 hours, I don't like it that much though.

All that Jazz

Hansel and Gretel

Our two week long production design course is over. Each of us had to pick a tale and create color concepts, characters and backgrounds for it. I chose Hansel and Gretel and I liked it a lot, tried to be innovative and keeping it traditional at the same time.

August mood

Here it is: my first painting in Painter.

Lighting study no.3

Back to lighting studies. I just love the way light is handled in Ratatouille. It's warm looming that makes whites glow creates such a unique atmosphere. Pixar's lighting team did a perfect job again.
So this is based on a sculpture I made a couple of years ago. I didn't want to spend too much time on texture, light was my primal purpose.

The Old Mill

I'm spending my 2 week internship at Cinemon and I've been very busy all week, but now that it's Sunday, and I could paint a little, my peace of mind has been restored.
